Typhaboard

Advanced Materials − The Basis of Innovative Buildings

Innovative sustainable building material system

TYPHABOARD is a building material made of cattail (Latin: typha) and a mineral binder. It is used in structural and insulating wall elements. Its special properties – water-vapor permeable structure and high fire resistance - make it suitable for use in lightweight, sustainable, healthy and largely prefabricated buildings. TYPHABOARD is completely biodegradable and therefore fully compostable. Planting typha in wetlands and peat areas will help to rapidly purify nutrient-loaded grounds and waters, as well as to bind huge amounts of CO2. The TYPHABOARD concept allows developing sustainable, decentralized settlements all over the world.
