Testing rig for the determination of a building product’s propensity to continuous smoldering in accordance with DIN EN 16733.
The Fraunhofer WKI is in possession of an accreditation as an inspection body for the determination of the glimmer and smolder behavior of thermal insulation materials in accordance with DIN EN 16733. Furthermore, we have developed additional procedures with which the glimmer behavior of thermal insulation materials can be examined and evaluated in more detail. These procedures enable the target-oriented development of insulation materials and supplements which influence the glimmer and smolder behavior.
