District Energy Concept Adviser (District ECA)

The project "District Energy Concept Adviser (District ECA)" is intended to support urban planners, housing companies, builders and local decision makers in the early planning stages of energy concepts for city districts. The District ECA software assists stakeholders in planning new districts and in retrofitting or remodeling the energy supply of existing city districts. District ECA is a tool for evaluating several buildings regarding primary energy, delivered energy, net energy, CO2 emissions, CO2 equivalents and the share of renewable energy. The program is easy to use. The District ECA software enables users to compare the energy consumption of a district to the national average consumption or to existing energy-efficient city districts. Furthermore it allows to quickly compare various strategies of building design and (de-)centralized energy supply systems. Several basic (default) values have been provided for assessing the energy concept, along with type buildings, pre-configured building envelopes depending on the building age and the selected building services systems. Users can also adapt the default values to the actual conditions.
