Shanghai KIC International Plaza

Located in Shanghai in the Jiangwan-Wujiaochang sub-center, the project extracts advantages from the fine location and the infrastructure conditions. With the goal of an innovative small-and-medium size enterprise in mind, an intellectual German style central building was set up. The design requires analysis of the target enterprise’s demand and of the office habits. It proposes an introduction policy of relevant business and a development mode which meet the project orientation. In addition the project reflects the character of a small-and-medium size enterprise.
In terms of the floor plan layout, the industrial type function distribution, the space organization and the indoor environment the design represents a high grade of flexibility and freedom. The design of the office space refers to the idea of exchange, discussion, openness and ecology. It emphasizes the green and ecological technology and creates a key design regarding the façade, the materials and the equipment. The building shape as well as the concept scheme of the exterior space, the plaza, the underground space and traffic organization, the landscape design, etc. are related to the style and image of an international intellectual enterprise.

During the further development of the project and to guaranty the good communication among the different consultant companies, the BIM (Building Information Modeling) method took place to optimize the planning.

Especially for future projects SBA will collaborate closely with Fraunhofer in the research field of BIM.
